Gary Lyn Smith, 82, passed away on Tuesday, January 16, 2024 surrounded by his loved ones.

Gary was born on Tuesday, June 17, 1941 in Grayville, Illinois to Frank and Gladys (Bacon) Smith.

Gary was united in marriage to the love of his life Rochelle Kay Miller on September 30, 2002 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. They were married for 17 years until Rochelle's passing in 2019. Gary proudly served his Country in the United States Marines Corps. Gary then worked at Bell Helicopter as a Senior Procurement Specialist, he retired in 2004.

Gary was loved by many. He enjoyed family, great friends, golfing, and traveling. He loved attending Marine Corps Balls all over the United States and meeting up with his same friends that served with him in Vietnam.

Gary is survived by his Daughter, Dawn De Paula Gomes and her Husband Kraig; Son, Gary Smith and wife Erlinda; Grandchildren, Ciara Smith, Melissa Gomes, Vanessa Landrum, Jedidiah Smith, Irish Smith, and Sean Austin Smith; Great-Grandchildren, Joshua, Lucca, Aleah, Sophia, Luana, Leila, and Kamai; Sister, Kathy Meacham and husband Bob.

Gary is preceded in death by his Parents; Wife; Son, Sean Lee Smith; and Brother, Larry Smith.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 25th from 10-11 a.m. with the Funeral Service starting immediately after at 11 a.m. Both at Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta.

The family wishes Memorial Contributions be made out to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Wounded Warrior Project, left in care of Dunsford Funeral Home.
