Obituary

Fred “Rick” Graham Jr., 78, of Augusta, Kansas, passed away on Saturday, October 10, 2026.

Rick was born on July 5, 1948, in Jackson County, Missouri. He retired from the Kansas Turnpike after many years of dedicated service.

"In every walk with Nature one receives far more than he seeks."

                                                       — John Muir

An avid outdoorsman, Rick enjoyed fishing wherever he had the opportunity. He especially looked forward to annual fishing trips to Canada with friends, but he was just as content spending a day on the water closer to home. Whether on a lake, pond, or river, he appreciated being outdoors and the friendships built along the way.

Rick married wife, Cheryl on January 25, 1993. Together they built a life centered on family.

He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Rick is survived by his wife, Cheryl Graham; daughters, Sharlene (Brent), Stevi (Chris), Cheyla (Harris), and Jacey; son, Brock (Ashlie); grandchildren, Quiera (Dylan), Kaden, Kyah, Kennedy, Kirsyn, Daylan (Kayla), Aspyn (Christopher), Tyler, Jasmyn, Adyen, Tyler (Erika), Trista, Tanner, Teagan, and Tucker; and great-grandchildren, Ronin, Eden, Persephone, Ezra, Erez, Rubeus, Elias, Sylphiette, and Ianthe. He is also survived by extended family members and many friends.

Rick was preceded in death by his father, Fred Graham Sr.; his mother, Veda Robinson; and his brother, Mick Graham.

A celebration of Rick’s life for family and friends will be held at a later date.
