Francis "Joe" Joseph Weigand, 79, passed away on Wednesday, August 16, 2023.

Joe was born on Saturday, November 20, 1943 in Chanute, Kansas to James Joseph and Catheryn Irene (Welch) Weigand. Joe was united in marriage to Nancy (Abel) on August 20, 1966. They were married for 56+ years until Joe's passing. Joe worked as a Music Teacher/Band Director for 40+ years in Kansas, North Dakota, Iowa, and Missouri.

Joe loved spending time with family and friends, listening to music, reading, traveling (especially cruising), everything Jayhawk (University of Kansas), St. Louis Cardinals Baseball, attending St. Louis Symphony, MUNY theater, Fox theater, Missouri Botanical Garden, and St. Louis Art Museum.

Joe is survived by his wife Nancy; daughter, Kimberly (Damon Klotz); granddaughter, Ashley and grandson, Matthew of Florissant of Missouri; Son, Robert (Tanya) Weigand, granddaughters, Kaitlyn and Emily of Columbia, Missouri; Sisters, Judy Day of Arkansas City, Kansas and Kathie (David Abel) of Wichita, Kansas. There are also several nieces and nephews who will miss him.

Joe is preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Kate Weigand.

Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 30th at 1:00 p.m. at Dunsford Funeral Home in Augusta, Kansas.
