Gibson, Fern (Maness), 92, formerly of Douglass passed away August 26, 2010 in Decatur, Texas.

Fern was born October 27, 1917 to Conrad and Mary (Ragsdell) Maness in Sterling, Oklahoma.

Fern married Allen H. Gibson on May 28, 1936 in El Dorado, Kansas. During WWII, Fern worked at Beech Aircraft in Wichita and later worked for John Deere and Morris Oil Company. Fern was a member of the Church of Christ in Douglass and the American Legion Auxiliary.

Fern was preceded in death by her husband Allen; three brothers Sam Amon Maness; James Maness and Willard Maness and two sisters Mildred (Maness) Glaves and Gladys (Maness) Mitchell. She leaves to mourn her passing numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be August 28, 2010, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. A graveside service will be held August 29, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the Douglass Cemetery.
