Evelyn Leonard, 83, passed away on Tuesday, September 6, 2022.

Evelyn was born on June 10, 1939 in Bakersfield, California to Charles and Virginia

(Rodgers) Dotson.  Her family moved to Torrance, California where she went to Banning High School and met Lester Leonard who was in the Navy stationed in Long Beach. While working at the walk in theater, Les fell in love with Evie at first sight.

Evelyn eloped with Lester on November 19, 1957. They were married for 21 years until Lester's passing on March 17, 1980. They moved to Hastings, Nebraska and started their family.  They moved back to California in 1961, raising 6 children in the city of LaMirada, California, with most of the family working at Kinney Shoes

After Les's death, Evelyn was determined to help people ease their foot problems.  She learned everything about feet on her own; eventually becoming a Certified Pedorthotist for Marsdens in Whittier, and McCulloch's Shoe Store in Brea,

California until she retired in 2010 while living in Orange.  She moved to Augusta, Kansas March 29, 2012.

Evelyn enjoyed visiting with her family, especially for the holidays. In the early years, she and Les took their family camping while heading to Nebraska to visit with Les' family every summer.  Once she moved to Kansas, she loved the trips to Branson in November to see the Christmas lights.

Evelyn is survived by her six children, Rona (Doug), Lester (Carol), Charles (Tammy), Leslie (Dennis), Charlene (Rodger), Donald (Denise), 19 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren.

Eveyln is survived by her siblings, LeeRoy, Teresa, Sandy, preceded in death by Sonny, Betty, Charles, Mary, Debbie, and many nephews and nieces.

Family will hold a Celebration of Life service, Tuesday September 13th at 10:00 a.m. at Hope Community Church in Andover, Kansas
