Ettamae Belew was born May 30, 1924, to Bill and Greeta Goff in Lansing Michigan. She had one sister, Alberta who along with her parents preceded her in death. Ettamae is survived by her husband Vernon, brother-in-law Lloyd Schrader, daughters Barbara Belew, Penny Murphy, and Billie Altenhofen, sons-in-law Joe Altenhofen and Paul Murphy. Ettamae and Vernon gave one daughter, Linda, into God's care in 2004. They have 13 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren with one on the way!

Ettamae attended seminary before meeting Vernon and devoted much of her life to counseling and financial planning for young couples. She was very talented in many ways and worked for several years giving lessons in tatting, crocheting and knitting, however her passion was music. She and Vernon sang together often and Ettamae composed poems all of her life, and songs in later years. She was also a gifted artist and her family have many pictures from her talented hands.

They spent their married life in Michigan,Indiana, Wyoming and Kansas but lived the longest in Garnett, Kansas where they retired. Ettamae never met a stranger, she and Vernon traveled extensively meeting many people who became life long friends.

She will be remembered by all who met her for her devotion to her Lord and Savior, her quick wit, her unforgettable laugh and her hugs.

The greatest gift she gave her children was the knowlege that death was not to be feared, as it was God's gift of beginning the journey of eternal life in His presence. We now envy her presence with God with the knowledge that we will join her in His timing.

Tuesday evening from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. there will be a gathering to greet the family and friends at The First Baptist Church in Garnett, Kansas. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, June 27, at 1:00 p.m. also at the church.
