Young, Eddy "Ed", 59, Hawker Beechcraft Crew Chief, passed away, May 7, 2011, from a strong battle with cancer.

Ed was born February 13, 1952, to Marvin Edward and Wilma Jean "Jackie (Smith) Young in Sedan, Kansas. He graduated from Winfield High School. Ed married Sonya Haynes on May 26, 1985, in El Dorado, Kansas.

He is survived by his wife Sonya of 26 years; daughters Shila (Robert) Smith of Wichita, Heidi (Sean) Stoskopf of Great Bend, Samantha (Noel) Gonzalez of Andover, son Russell (Chandra) Smalley of Rose Hill; father Marvin Young of Douglass; siblings Ray (Sharon) Young of Latham, Cindy (Chuck) Hogarth of Winfield, 5 grandchildren Sawyer, Maitland, Angel, Nicole and Leigh Ann.

Ed was preceded in death by his mother Wilma Jean "Jackie" Young.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 11, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral service is May 12, at 1:00 p.m. at Hope Community Church, 1831 East 21st Street, in Andover. Interment to follow in Bruno Township Cemetery in Andover.
