Obituary

Hoops, Dwain, Allen, 89, retired private practice attorney from Rochester, Minnesota, passed away peacefully, Friday, November 11, 2011, at his son's home in Augusta.

Dwain was born January 13, 1922, to Walter Mathias and Audrey Etta (Babcock) Hoops in Schuyler, Nebraska. He served in the United States Marines as a lieutenant colonel and a pilot during World War II and also the Korean War. Dwain received his undergraduate degree from Carlton College and his law degree from the University of Minnesota. After graduation Dwain became the Vice President of the First National Bank of Rochester.

His survivors include his son Brandon Hoops of Augusta; his former wife and best friend Marilyn of rural Rose Hill, Kansas; great-grandchildren Brandie, Christian, Taylor and Connor Davis of Wichita.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter Carroll Jean Davis and a brother Beverly "Bo" Hoops. There will be no local services. A private family service will be held at a later date.
