Fry, Dorothy Mae (Baum) 94, formerly of Augusta, passed away, Thursday evening March 17, 2011, at Medicalodge of Goddard.
Dorothy was born to Orbra and Goldie Mae (Russell) Baum on August 9, 1916 in Winfield, Kansas. She graduated from Winfield High School in 1935 and married Lowell Lawrence Fry, Sr. on April 28, 1941 in Newkirk, Oklahoma. Dorothy worked in the Kaiser Shipyards during World War II in Oakland, California. She also worked for Beech, Boeing and Loadcraft in Augusta. The Fry's were members of the Rose Hill Christian Church, First Christian Church in Augusta and the Conestoga R.V. Club.
Survivors include her son and his wife Lowell, Jr. and Cindy Fry of Wentzville, Missouri; a daughter and her husband Shirley and Robert Clark of Wichita; a brother and his wife Wendell and Reta Baum of Kearney, Missouri; a sister Mildred Denman of Wichita; five grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; spouse and three siblings.
A viewing will be from 12:30-1:00 p.m. at the cemetery prior to the graveside service on Saturday, March 19, at 1:00 p.m. in Elmwood Cemetery using the Ohio Street entrance in Augusta. Dorothy's son Reverend Lowell Fry, Jr. will be officiating.
A memorial has been established with Vision Christian Church, Post Office Box 209, Foristell, Missouri 63348 or in care of the funeral home.
