Doris M. Plummer, 90, passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at Wesley Medical Center.  Funeral Service will be Tuesday, February 11th at 2 p.m. at Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta, Kansas.

Doris was born on August 25, 1934 in Jay, Oklahoma to Melvin and Betty (Buckett) Payton. Doris attended Augusta High School, then attended cosmetology school in Wichita.  She purchased and ran the "Village Beauty Salon" in Augusta for 50 years.

Doris was known by many in Augusta and the only comments you would ever hear was that she was the sweetest and kindest woman you could meet. If someone was hungry and showed up at her door, she would feed them, if someone needed money, she would give them her last dollar.  She was a dignified lady, always wanting to be peaceful and harmonious with all.  After her retirement, she enjoyed traveling with her sister and family. Most of all, she took pride and enjoyment listening to the wonderful music at the "jam sessions" with her husband, Kenneth and children, Ken and Teresa, and enjoying the love and great food that was showered on her from her daughter Linda.

Doris is survived by her remaining child, Teresa Overton (Don); sister, Joyce Brown (Newatha); brother, Keith Payton; grandchildren, Efrem Plummer (Misty), Levi Nachbor (Jennifer), Evan Overton, and Jared Lane Dykes; and her sister-in-law, Pat Richey;  great-grandchildren, Katie Plummer, Corbin Plummer, Piercen Plummer, Cameron Plummer, Maddie Nachbor, Sopia Nachbor, Grace Nachbor, Ellie Overton, and Elon Overton; Along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Doris is proceeded in death by her parents; her brother, Dorvin "Sonny" Davis; husband, Kenneth Plummer; son, Ken Plummer; and daughter, Linda Plummer Moore (who passed four months ago); along with grandson, Derrick Plummer.
