Donna Lee (Train) Ruple, 84, passed away on Sunday, December 25, 2022 at the home of her daughter in Peoria, Arizona.

Donna was born on Saturday, January 1, 1938 in Lindsborg, Kansas to George and Agnes (Almquist) Train. She had two brothers, Dr. Carl Train and Steve Train. Donna grew up on a farm, east of Lindsborg where she learned the importance of perseverance, even in tough times. Her Swedish heritage instilled in her the importance of hard work, being honest and going the second mile.

Donna was united in marriage to Clyde Ruple on July 7, 1956 in Lindsborg, KS. They moved to Paris, France shortly after their marriage where Clyde served in the Air Force. They returned to the US in early 1959 with 2 young daughters (Lita) Doreen and (Laura) Diane. They moved to Texas where Clyde continued to serve, and son (Larry) Douglas was born. In 1965, they moved to Augusta, Kansas where Donna lived until October 2022, when she moved to Peoria, AZ to live with her daughter Diane. Donna and Clyde were married for 49 years at the time of his passing in 2006.

Donna worked as a secretary and office manager in Augusta, El Dorado and Wichita. She was a secretary at the Augusta United Methodist Church, as well as Hillside and Dunsford funeral homes in Augusta.

Donna loved being with family. Growing up being with her grandparents, parents, brothers, and cousins provided great memories. Once married, creating memories with her children and eventually grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought her much joy. Even in the chaos of children, she smiled.

Donna is survived by her children, Doreen (Ed) Kittle of Augusta, KS, Diane (Larry) Kittle of Peoria, AZ, and Doug Ruple of Sacramento, CA; 7 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and her brother Dr Carl Train of Cape Girardeau, MO.

Donna is preceded in death by her parents, her husband and brother Steve Train.

Memorial Service will be on Saturday, January 14th at 10am at the Augusta United Methodist Church.

The family wishes Memorial Contributions be made to the Augusta United Methodist Church, left in care of the Dunsford Funeral Home.
