Whittaker, Donald Lee, 92, passed away Monday, October 18, 2010 at Lakepoint of Augusta.
Donald was born May 22, 1918 to Charles Fyffe and Edna Mellette Whittaker in Lawrenceville, Illinois. He graduated from Lawrenceville High School and the University of Wyoming in Geology. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. Donald married Rosemary Carter on November 30, 1946 in Bridgeport, Illinois. To this union they had three children Randall, Rebecca, and Sarah.
Throughout his life he worked for independent petroleum companies as a geologist. He also loved to travel and work in his shop doing woodworking.
Survivors include his wife Rosemary Whittaker of almost 64 years; son Randall and his wife Regna Whittaker of Augusta; two daughters and their husbands Rebecca and Steve Enzinger of Corpus Christi, Texas and Sarah and David Malzewski of Brookfield, Wisconsin; sister Dorotha Fildes of Columbia, Maryland and two grandchildren Samuel and Trevor Malzewski of Brookfield, Wisconsin.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Jack and Charles Whittaker.
