Zapata, Texas - Smith, Donald "Don" Daniel, 78, formerly of Leon, passed away, Thursday, October 27, 2011, at the Harry Hynes Inpatient Unit at Via Christi St. Francis in Wichita.

Donald was born June 14, 1933, in Kelso, Washington to Daniel and Mable (Hovde) Smith. He graduated from Puyallup Washington High School and served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Don married Patricia Webb Conley on November 23, 1984, in Puyallup, Washington. He retired from Boeing as a contract manager in 1988.

Survivors include his wife Pat of the home, sons Michael Smith (Robbin) of Wichita, Donald Smith (Cindy) of Graham, Washington, Greg Conley (Debbie) of Richmond, Indiana; daughters Joanne Doss (John) of Tacoma, Washington, Cathy Schatz (Tracy), Lisa Squier (Bill) all of Tacoma, Washington and Denise James (Shawn) of Wichita; brother David Smith of Buckley, Washington; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son Scott, three sisters Margaret , Myrtle and Eileen.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, November 1, 2011, at 1:00 p.m. in the Dunsford Funeral Home Chapel.

A memorial has been established with the American Heart Association in care of the funeral home.
