Don Bear, 78, a much loved dad and husband passed away on Sunday, November 15, 2015. Don was born December 27, 1936 in Harper County to Paul and Olga (Wolhschelegel) Bear. Survived by his wife E. Chris Bear of 52 years; daughters Tracy Mayfield and Natalie Bear and his beloved grand puppies.

He truly adored his family, loved nature and was a history and politics buff. He graduated from Augusta High School in 1955. Served in the U.S. Army as a Specialist/E-4 based in Okinawa, Japan. He traveled across the United States as a respected welder and owned Bear Welding for 48 years. Elected to two terms as Township Trustee.

Graveside memorial services will be Friday 11 a.m. November 20, 2015 at the Elmwood Cemetery of Augusta, Kansas, using the 12th street entrance.

In lieu of flowers, Don loved animals and nature, donations may be made in his name to the Sedgwick County Zoo, left in care of the Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta.
