Delbert Dean Megli, 64, passed away on Monday, August 15, 2016.
He was born in Yakima, Washington on December 30, 1951 to Archie and Lillie (Byrd) Megli. Delbert graduated from Augusta High School in 1969 and joined the family business. A short time later he married Diane Anderson. Delbert worked alongside his dad and Uncle Bill building many of the homes in Augusta, KS. On November 6, 1974 he married Paula Crissup. Delbert and Paula have 2 children, Jeremy and Melissa. In the early 80's he changed careers and began farming with the McClure Brothers. Eventually he returned to building homes as a master carpenter working with Randy Grey in the Argonia, KS area until his death.
Delbert is survived by his son Jeremy(Misty) Megli of Douglass; daughter Melissa Megli of Douglass; grandchildren Myra, Conner and Mason Megli of Douglass; sister Darla (Ralph) Gibson of Deer Park, Washington and niece Kelly Linder of El Dorado.
Delbert was preceded in death by his parents, and nephews Danny Megli and Kevin Gibson.
Visitation will be Friday August 19, from 5-7 p.m. at the Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta. Graveside services will be Saturday August 20, at 10 a.m. at the Douglass Cemetery, Douglass, Kansas.
