Bastian, Daniel Eugene, 60, passed away, Sunday, February 24, 2013, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Daniel was born October 13, 1952, to Elmer Matthew and Wilma Lee (Singles) Bastian in Coolidge, Kansas. He married Cindy Kay Shaver on December 13, 1982, in Newkirk, Oklahoma. Daniel managed the Douglass Grain & Feed elevator in Douglass, Kansas.
His survivors include his wife, Cindy of the home; mother, Wilma Lee Bastian of El Cajon, California; daughters, Deana Bastian (Homer King) of Augusta, Cheryl Moore of Douglass, Kimberley Tate (Terrence Cordray) of Marceline, Missouri and Rebecca (Ryan) Pinick of Derby, Kansas; sons, Brian Bastian of Leavenworth, Kansas, Lonnie (Izetta) Smith-Bastian of Winfield, Danny (Rita) Bastian, Jr., of Augusta and Brenten "B.J." Bastian of the home; brothers, Gerald Bastian of Douglass and Matt Bastian of El Cajon, California; sisters, Patricia Lynn Reynolds of Aurora, Colorado, Gail Ann (Lee) Phipps and Sherri Lee Smith all of El Cajon, California; and 17 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Elmer Bastian; first wife Carol Ann (Sartin) Bastian; and a sister, Carolyn Sue Hennessy. Visitation with family greeting friends will be held Thursday, February 28, from 5-7 p.m. Funeral service will be Friday, March 1, at 2:00 p.m. both in the Dunsford Funeral Home Chapel.
A memorial has been established with the American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home.
