Goldsmith, Curtis Eldon, 84, retired Jack's Men's Wear owner, passed away Saturday, January 26, 2013.
Curtis was born September 2, 1928, to Ora Clyde and Laura Desdemona (Burkdoll) Goldsmith in Lyndon, Kansas. He served his country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He married Eleanor Lucille Owen on September 23, 1956, in Plattsburg, Missouri. Together they owned and operated Jack's Men's Wear in Augusta. He was an avid Cubs fan and enjoyed his grandchildren's sporting events.
Survivors include his spouse, Eleanor "Ellie" Goldsmith of the home; daughters, Cindy (Gary) Nickel and Laura (Ernie) Debruler all of Augusta; daughter-in-law, Cay Goldsmith of Fredricksburg, Virginia; brother, Raymond (Ann) Goldsmith of Lyndon, Kansas; 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Curtis was preceded in death by his parents; son, Mark Goldsmith; brothers, Gerald and Rodell Goldsmith and a sister, Erma Goldsmith.
Visitation will be held Monday, January 28, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Graveside service will be held Tuesday, January 29, at 1:00 p.m. in Elmwood Cemetery, using the 12th Street Entrance.
