Augusta – Corey Christopher Brown, 18, passed away on Thursday, February 27, 2020.

Corey was born on Thursday, August 2, 2001 in Wichita, Kansas to David and Kimberly (Dowdy) Brown.  Corey attended Robinson Elementary, attended Butler Community College, and graduated from Augusta High School in May of 2019.  He was gifted musically.  He love playing his guitar and keyboard.  Corey was smart, witty and loved animals.  He never saw a dog he didn't want to pet.

Corey is survived by his parents David (Jennifer) Brown of Wichita and Kim Brown of Augusta; maternal grandfather Doug Dowdy of Augusta; paternal grandmother Barbara Brown of Sacramento, CA; paternal grandfather Bill Brown of South Dakota; step-siblings Elizabeth Katra, Andrea Metcalfe, Austin Metcalfe; aunts Karen Doerr of Oak Harbor, WA and Gayle (Larry) Ammerman of Fort Worth, TX; uncles Billy Brown and Thomas Brown; and numerous cousins.

Corey is preceded in death by his grandmother Melba Dowdy.

Viewing will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, March 2 ^nd at the Dunsford Funeral Home in Augusta.

Funeral Service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 3 ^rd at the First Baptist Church in Augusta.  Interment will follow at Elmwood Cemetery also in Augusta.

The family wishes Memorial Contributions be made out to USD #402, AHS (Counseling Dept), left in care of the Dunsford Funeral Home.
