Dunbar, Claudia May (Thornton), 71, passed away on Saturday, August 13, 2016.
Claudia was born December 21, 1944, to Humphrey and Violet (Force) Thornton in Spokane, Washington. Claudia was united in marriage to James Dunbar on March 1, 1969 at the First Christian Church in Augusta. Claudia worked as a CNA helping the handicapped at New Horizons and as a baby sitter throughout her life. Claudia enjoyed collecting Disney memorabilia, watching old Hallmark movies, and listening to Elvis. She loved her family very much and always put their needs before her own.
Her survivors include her husband, Jim Dunbar of Park City; children Michelle and husband Daniel McCoy of El Dorado, Jeff Dunbar of Park City, Jennifer and husband Douglas O'Donnell of Park City; brother Daryl and wife Robin Thornton of Augusta; sister Carol and husband Ray Smith of Winfield; grandchildren Matthew, Jessica, Christian, Tristan and Alexandra; great-grandchild Kayden.
Claudia was preceded in death by her parents, Humphrey and Violet, brother Tommy Thornton and great grandson Hayden Pilant.
Visitation will be Wednesday, August 17, from 12-2 p.m. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. both at the Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta, with Interment at Elmwood Cemetery in Augusta.
Memorials have been established with the American Diabetes Association, left in care of the funeral home.
