Obituary

Eblen, Charles, W., 81, passed away, Sunday, December 18, 2011, at Kansas Medical Center in Andover.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 21, from 5-7 p.m. Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 22, both at the funeral home.

Charles was born July 5, 1930 in Cumberland, Iowa to Jess and Grace (Watson) Eblen. Charles served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and married Martha Lee Smith on December 30, 1963, in Miami, Oklahoma. He retired from the Butler County Township maintenance department and had previously worked as a foreman for Frito's and Sherwood/Wildcat Construction. Charles was a member of Prairie Hills Southern Baptist Church in Augusta and the American Legion in Iowa.

His survivors include his sons and their wives Dennis and Paula Bunker of Wichita, Gene and Karen Bunker of Dodge City, Kansas and Cary and Cheryl Bunker of Nowata, Oklahoma; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; a niece Carol Jensen; and a nephew Kent Berry.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents; spouse; brother Richard Eblen; and a sister Audrey Berry.
