Augusta – Charles Linen Barber, 84, passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2020.

Charles was born on Thursday, March 28, 1935 in Anderson, Indiana to Byrus L. and Beatrice Lavange (Beard) Barber.  Charles married Carmen Mueller on March 16, 1955 in Wichita.  He had previously worked as a Civilian employee for the U.S. Government.  Charles loved to build model cars, collect stamps, collect coins, and collect hookahs and dolls from his travels.  Charles and Carmen traveled extensively to several countries due to his work with the U.S. Government.  Charles and Carmen also fostered many children throughout the years.

Charles is survived by his daughter Judi Emert and her husband Michael of St. Charles, MO; daughter-in-law Kathy Barber of Shreveport, LA; and his grandchildren Amy, Allison, Jared, Kiersten and Brayden.

Charles is preceded in death by his parents Byrus and Beatrice, his wife Carmen and his son Brent.

Memorial Service will be at First United Methodist Church in Augusta on a TBD date.
