Haan, Catherine, Jeanne, 90, passed away quietly in her sleep on Tuesday, September 6, 2011, at the Catholic Care Center in Wichita.

Family will be receiving guests from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral service on Monday, September 12, at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Name Catholic Church in Rock Rapids, Iowa with burial to follow in Holy Name Catholic Cemetery.

Catherine Jeanne Haan, known as Jeanne to friends and family, was born Catherine Jean Follett on May 22, 1921 in Rock Rapids, Iowa to Dio and Mabel (Egan) Follett. Catherine Jeanne was a graduate of the University of South Dakota, became a teacher of Business for 44 years, and retired in 1984 from South Tama High School in Iowa.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband John Henry Haan, whom she married in 1949, and also by her daughter Mary Catherine.

She is survived by her sons, John Richard Haan of Des Moines, IA, Gerald (Sue) Haan of Davenport, IA, Thomas (Jan) Haan of Richmond, VA, and James (Ami) Haan of Wichita; and her daughter Nancy Haan Hill of Warrensburg, MO. She was a beloved grandmother to Gerald Beecher (Melanie) Haan of Bettendorf, IA, Katie (Creighton) Duncan of LeClaire, IA, Jessica (Jason) Kluever of Charlotte, IA, Rachel Fleenor and Brady Knudson of Des Moines, IA, Will (Stephanie) Hill, Ron Hill and PJ Hill all of Warrensburg, MO; Caitlin Haan and Natalya Haan of Richland, WA; Jamie Haan, Julian Haan, Sarah Haan and Allison Haan all of Wichita, KS; and Great-grandmother of 9 (with 2 more on the way).
