Augusta – Carol Dean Young, 67, passed away on Thursday, August 26, 2021.

Carol was born on Tuesday, February 16, 1954 in El Dorado, Kansas to Floyd Keith and Geneva May (Burns) Reed.  On July 3, 1972, Carol married Dick Young in Independence, Kansas.  Carol was a domestic engineer. She loved to play piano, cook and sew.  Carol loved to attend church activities.  She loved spending time with her grandkids..

Carol is survived by her son David (Lauree) Young of Augusta, KS; daughter Caressa (Kellen) Potter of Augusta, KS; grandchildren Cammaya Potter and Keithhan Potter; siblings Steve (Julie) Reed of Joplin, MO and Floyd Reed Jr. of Derby, KS.

Carol is preceded in death by her parents and her husband Dick in 2017.

Visitation will be on Sunday, August 29 from 2:00-4:00p.m.  Funeral Service will be on Monday, August 30 at 10:00 a.m. both at Dunsford Funeral Chapel in Augusta.

Burial to follow at Elmwood Cemetery, entrance off of Ohio St.

The family wishes Memorial Contributions be made out to the Grace Nazarene Church – Bus Fund, left in care of the Dunsford Funeral Home.
