Carmen Eva Wade, 79, passed away on Monday, April 27, 2026.

Carmen was born on Thursday, August 1, 1946 in Columbus, Kansas to Milton and Sue (Stone) Hall.

Carmen was united in marriage to Stephen P. Wade on January 15, 1966. They were married for over 58 years until Stephen's passing in 2024.

Carmen worked as a high school math teacher in Picher, OK and then in Baxter Springs, KS.

Carmen was an avid crafter. She was multi-talented and enjoyed crocheting, tole painting, sewing, embroidery, and woodworking. She also assisted her husband with improving their rental properties.

Carmen is survived by her son, Paul (Carmen) Wade of Wichita, KS; daughter, Carrie Wade of Parsons, KS; grandchildren, Emma, Clara, Samual, Aubrey, and Zane; brother James Melvin (Barbara) Hall.; and sister, Sara (Jerry) Newport of Pittsburg, KS.

Carmen is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Stephen; and sister, Alice Hall.

Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, May 7th at 10 a.m. at Derfelt Funeral Home (328 E 12th St. Baxter Springs, KS 66713).
