Calvin Coolidge-Jerome Applegate II, 69, passed away on Friday, September 6, 2024.

Calvin was born on Thursday, December 16, 1954 in Wichita, Kansas to Calvin C. Applegate I and Marian "Mimi" McNeil.

Calvin was united in marriage to Debra Renee Applegate on August 8, 1981, in Augusta, Kansas. They were married for over 42 years until Debra's passing in 2023.

Calvin worked many different jobs throughout his life. He started out working for his father as a carpenter, electrician, and farmer, working fields in the evening for his father. Then he was sent to England by Beechcraft and trained to work on the Hawker. Calvin continued to work at Beechcraft until he retired in 2000 to spend quality time with his family and taking them to the lake.

Calvin played football during high school and continued to play at Butler Community College. Calvin enjoyed spending his time outdoors, kayaking, boating, fishing, woodworking, and hunting.

Calvin is survived by his children, Shane Applegate, Kyle Applegate, and Ashley Applegate; grandchildren, Jack Crosby, Jenna Crosby, Karsyn Pool, Jason Breig, Kellen Lawrence, MacKenzie Applegate, and Kylus Applegate; and sister, Priscilla Applegate-Stanley.

Calvin is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Debra; nephew, Nicholas Applegate.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 13th from 5-7 p.m. at Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta.

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, September 14th 2024 at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Augusta, Kansas.

Graveside service to follow at Elmwood Cemetery of Augusta.

The family wishes Memorial Contributions be made out to the Boy Scouts of America, left in care of the Dunsford Funeral Home.
