Kirkwood, Betty May (Watt), 86, passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2011, at Kansas Medical Center in Andover.
Betty was born September 15, 1925, to Frank and Ada (Heinzman) Watt in Miami, Florida. She was a graduate of Augusta High School in 1943, and went to work as a secretary for the Mobil Refinery in Augusta. She married Robert "Bob" LeRoy Kirkwood on November 4, 1950, in Augusta. Betty retired from the Augusta Schools as a secretary in the middle school. She was an active member of Christ Lutheran Church, Friends of the Library and Epsilon Sigma Alpha Sorority.
Survivors: include her daughters and their husbands Linda and Donald Burden of Augusta, Carol and Clay Wilson of Derby; grandsons Dean Burden, Brandon Nachbor, Brett Nachbor, Trevor Wilson and Trace Wilson; granddaughters Michelle Nachbor and Melissa (Brian) Wells; great-grandchildren Bailey Burden, Crayton Nachbor and Audrey Wells.
She was preceded in death by her parents; spouse and her brothers Charles and Howard Watt.
Viewing will be Monday, December 19, from 1-5 p.m.. Visitation with family greeting friends will be Monday from 5-7 p.m. both at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 20, at 11:00 a.m. at Christ Lutheran Church 1500 Cron, Augusta, Kansas 67010.
A memorial has been established with Christ Lutheran Church, or the Alzheimer's Association in care of the funeral home.
