Bethany "Bette" Clarene Powers, 95, passed away on November 13, 2017.

Bette was born on May 12, 1922 in Hammond, Indiana to Joseph Richard and Lois (Dickenson) Crowder.  On March 13, 1939, Bette married Joel T. Powers in Augusta, Kansas.  Bette had previously worked as a broker in the commodities industry.  She loved playing golf.

Bette is survived by her daughter Anita Sue (Harvey) Merrill of Springfield, CO; brother H.D. Crowder of Wichita, KS; grandchildren Bette Ann (Dusty) Moore of Zapata, TX and Anthony Joel (Emma) Merrill of Liberal, KS; great-grandson Aaron Merrill and great-great-granddaughter Stella Merrill both of Elkhart, KS.

Bette is preceded in death by her parents and her husband Joel.

Graveside services will take place Monday, November 27th, at 2 p.m. at Elmwood Cemetery in Augusta.
