Augusta – Barbara Jeanne Bayer, 79, passed away on Thursday, January 13, 2022.

Barbara was born on Monday, March 9, 1942 in Augusta, Kansas to Andrew and Bonnie (Ingram) Vancil. Barbara taught high school English and German for nearly 40 years, mostly in Andover. She was a lifelong lover of all animals, particularly horses and dogs. Smart as a whip and with a quick wit, Barbra brought immense joy to her family and friends. She will be dearly missed.

Barbara is survived by her daughters Kathleen (Chris) Martindale of Kansas City and Kristin (Glen Nilsen) Bayer of Valley Center; grandchildren Ian (Ashley) Martindale of Overland Park, Heather Martindale of Merriam, and Roane Martindale of Kansas City; brother Martin (Peggy) Vancil of Gilroy, California.

Barbara is preceded in death by her parents and her husband Floyd Bayer.

There will be no memorial service at this time due to the ongoing COVID spread. Please leave remembrances on the Dunsford Funeral Home website.
