Thomas, Allison "Jean", 48, passed away peacefully in her home in Towanda on Saturday, February 8, 2014.
Jean was born April 15, 1965, to Al and Pauline (Louia) Teter in Wichita, Kansas.
Jean Graduated from Augusta High School in 1983 and completed Butler County Community College Nursing School in 1993. She loved her job as a nurse. She loved horses. She loved to train them and had a special place in her heart for her horses "Lilly" and "Z" as well as her beloved dog "Ace".
Survivors include her husband, Rick Bartel of the home; son, Clint Connor, stepsons, Bret and wife Brittany Bartel of Wichita, Kansas, Brandon and wife Kendra Bartel as well as granddaughter, Remington of Minot, North Dakota; brother, Jack James of Augusta, Kansas; sister Barb and husband Terry Smart of Augusta, Kansas; multiple nieces and nephews as well as multiple great nieces and great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Viewing will be Wednesday, February 12, from 1:00-8:00 p.m. and visitation with family greeting friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. in the Dunsford Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services Thursday February 13, 11:00 a.m. at the Prairie Hills Baptist Church 9959 SW Pampas Road, Augusta, Kansas 67010. Interment to follow in Elmwood Cemetery. Western wear, jeans and boots are the requested attire.
