Mason, Alan Keith, 84, passed away peacefully at his home in Augusta on Tuesday, January 21, 2014.

Alan was born June 13, 1929, to Hollie and Edith Mae (Murray) Mason in Hillsdale, Oklahoma. Alan served his country in the U.S. Army during Korea patrolling the DMZ between North and South Korea. He married Florence Marie Boyd on December 13, 1948, in Gravette, Arkansas. Alan worked on the assembly line for Boeing and Beech and then he owned and operated Alan's Auto Repair in Augusta. He also sold real estate and was an auctioneer. Alan was a member of the local American Legion Post and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

His survivors include his son, Kenneth Mason of Protection, Kansas; daughter, Sherry Mason of Augusta; brothers, Hollie Mason of Springdale, Arkansas, Ronald Mason of Fairfield, Ohio and Bert Mason (Mary Jane) Mason of Chipley, Florida; granddaughters, Monica and Veronica Mason of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

He was preceded in death by his parents; spouse, Florence on January 19, 2014; son, Ronald K. Mason; sisters, Dorothy Atkins, Grace Pecha, Elaine Armas; brothers, Marion, Charles and Eugene Mason.

Visitation Friday, January 24, from 1-2:00 p.m. with family and friends. Double service following for both Alan and Florence at 2:00 p.m., both in the Dunsford Funeral Home Chapel. Interment to follow in Elmwood Cemetery in Augusta, using the Ohio Street Entrance.
